The call is answered 24/7 by staffs who verifies insurances and triage the cases. They call the ‘on call’ Physician for the ‘in network’ Hospital to discuss the case with referring Physicians. Appropriate Southaven Physicians Hospital and level of care is identified and then patient is transferred to receiving Hospital. A brief interim holding order for admission may be required before a bed can be obtained. Certain Insurance companies may require pre-certification which has to be obtained by referring Physicians office before patient can be transferred.
